Use of collected personal data
Comments
When you leave a comment on our site, the data entered in the comment form, as well as your IP address and your browser’s user agent, are collected to help us detect spam comments.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, we recommend that you avoid uploading images with embedded GPS location data (EXIF). Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from these images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include any personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Statistics and audience measurement
To measure our audience, our site is connected to Google Analytics (see their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en) and Burst Statistic.
Use and transmission of your personal data
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
For data received through forms, it is stored:
- in the website’s database
- in the emails we receive when a form is submitted
This data is kept indefinitely in the database and in our emails until the database is cleaned or the emails are deleted.
Your rights over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
You can also request the deletion of any personal data we hold about you.
This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Contact information
For any request regarding access, modification, or deletion of your personal data, you can contact the Data Protection Officer, Alisée JOSUAN, by email at carriere.lou.cabanoun@gmail.com.
